The 1st prototype has been tested to grind the supporting core part of the plastic bottle pre-form mold for half year this year.  The supporting core part is made of 4Cr13 steel alloy and quenched to be in HRC50 to 52 degree. It was tested for the purpose of verification of the all function of the grinding machine design and the grinding processes. So far the the prototype runs well and all functions have been verified to be achieved. The grinding processes have been studied and the whole grinding program has been worked out. The target Ra0.03um has been achieved and it took around 4 minutes to finish one piece grinding similar to the time frame needed by a operator hand grinding. The machine runs stablly.

Small power Servo motos are used in the 1st prototype therefore the running speed is low. On the 2nd prototype large power Servo motors will be adopted and new type grinding tool will be used as well. The quality will be same but the production efficiencey will be higher to get a piece work piece done in 2 minutes. It runs fully automatically and an operator can run 4 pieces of the machine. Labor load is quite low.
